The NUI Galway Chamber Orchestra commence celebrations of its’ 10th season with a fundraising concert for Zikomo at 8pm on Monday 30th November in the upper Aula Maxima, NUIG.
Under the baton of Hugh Kelly, the orchestra will perform works by Schubert (Symphony No.5) and Bach (Brandenburg Concerto No.4).
The orchestra are having a series of concerts over the coming months showcasing some of the talented classical musicians in Galway. In the first of this series, local musicians Nuala Ní Chanainn (violin), Joanne Cater (flute) and Jantien Vandenberg (flute) will feature as soloists in the Brandenburg Concerto. The orchestra will be lead by Eamon Rabbitte. The orchestra are delighted to be joined by the NUIG Choral Society for a performance of Vivaldi’s Gloria and the traditional song, The Lark in the Clear Air.
Tickets are €5 and are available for Socs Box in Áras na Mac Léinn, NUI Galway or at the door, on the night. Zikomo will also have cards and Christmas cribs for sale. Light refreshments will be served on the night.
