In 2007 eight groups from different villages received 20 goats each. As a result of careful breeding most clubs now have in excess of 50 goats. During the visit in 2008 a community spokesperson had this to say to the Zikomo team:
“You gave us goats – we never had a chance to eat meat, now we have manure, milk and after a funeral we can eat a goat. The goats are still producing young and according to the system we use, we pass the kid goat on. Each offspring is given to a beneficiary and in three years every household in this community will have a goat.”
